A poetic fashion brand

Initiated in 2016 by Leni Charles, Kids of the Diaspora (KOTD) evolved into an awareness empowerment movement for marginalized individuals.

Harnessing the power of fashion, she conveyed her message to the world. Together with her sister Cherrie O., they deepened the purpose of KOTD, establishing a safe haven that provides a sense of belonging for marginalized people. Over the years, KOTD has gained international recognition through exhibitions, fashion collections, inclusive castings for film and commercials, talks, poetry, brand and community collaborations, short films, and healing events like „The Inner Garden Party“.

Leni operates as an independent art director for visual communication, offering guidance to creative agencies in their diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategies. Collaborating with her sister, she hosts various safe spaces on a weekly basis, such as KOTD Playdates for marginalized kids and single parents, as well as SoulCare Sundays for grown individuals.
